Why Stay Here

The Premium Suites are split-level with balconies that overlook flower gardens, and the beamed ceilings use original 19th-century barn wood salvaged during construction. Breakfast is served warm each morning, and you're close enough to Inglenook and Frog's Leap to walk back after an afternoon tasting.

  • Mary Tilden Morton designed and built the inn using 19th-century barn wood for the beamed ceilings
  • The Casita sleeps up to six with three bedrooms, a stone fireplace, and a private driveway
  • Premium Suites have split-level layouts, double marble sinks, and stained glass accents
  • Kid-friendly accommodations in Rutherford, walkable to several wineries

The Experience

Breakfast comes out warm, often with pastries, and the balconies on the Premium Suites are wide enough for morning coffee above the gardens. The Casita, a two-story hideaway adjacent to the main building, has a state-of-the-art kitchen fully stocked with utensils, a stone fireplace in the parlor, and a private terrace. You'll hear birds before traffic here, and the split-level layout in both the Premium King and Premium Suite rooms gives you separate seating areas to spread out after a day of tastings.

The Setting

Mary Tilden Morton, the Morton Salt heiress, founded and built Rancho Caymus Inn in Rutherford with hacienda-style walls, wrought iron accents, and decorative elements she sourced from artisans across the Americas. The lobby features exposed wooden beams, and the recently restored property sits in the hamlet of Rutherford, surrounded by vineyards. Stained glass accents appear in the Premium Suites, and double marble sinks fill the bathrooms.
