Why Stay Here

The William Cunningham room honors Steve Ledson's great-grandfather with antique furnishings and a layout that separates the sleeping area from the sitting space with French doors. The Whitby room's balcony overlooks the plaza in shades of green and gold. Every room here carries a family name, which means staying in a place where the founder's personal history is written into the architecture.

  • William Cunningham room named for Steve Ledson's great-grandfather with antique furnishings
  • Noble room has exposed wood beams and overlooks Sonoma Plaza
  • Zina Lounge tasting room on the ground floor pours Ledson wines
  • Granite soaking tubs and working fireplaces in all six rooms
  • Whitby room balcony faces the plaza in green and gold tones

The Experience

Guests check in and often head straight to the Zina Lounge downstairs for a tasting of Ledson wines before settling into their rooms. Each room includes a working fireplace and a granite soaking tub, which get used most often after a day of walking the plaza. Breakfast isn't included, so most people walk to the Sunflower Caffé or the plaza's bakery. The front balcony rooms let you watch the Friday farmers market from above while you drink coffee.

The Setting

Ledson Hotel setting

The Ledson Hotel sits directly on Sonoma Plaza, above the Zina Lounge tasting room that most guests visit before unpacking. The building's upper floor holds just six guest rooms, each one named after a member of Steve Ledson's family tree—William Cunningham, Noble, Whitby among them. The Noble room features exposed wood beams, a nod to Ledson's father's love of the outdoors. Balconies on the plaza-facing rooms put you within earshot of the weekend market and the central fountain.

William Cunningham

Step into William Cunningham's room, a tribute to the hotel's namesake's great-grandfather, where antique grandeur meets modern comfort. With dramatic blue and gold hues, this spacious retreat features a granite bathtub for two, a cozy fireplace, and ornate dark walnut floors, all inviting you to unwind in the heart of wine country.

Noble

Noble's room is a warm homage to Steve Ledson's father, embodying comfort and a love for the outdoors with its exposed wood beams and inviting earth tones. The bright balcony overlooking Sonoma Town Square is perfect for sipping wine under the stars, making it a serene escape for those looking to relax and enjoy the local charm.

Whitby

Whitby's room offers a clean-cut aesthetic with warm shades of green and gold, inviting guests to relax in style. The balcony serves as a perfect perch for people-watching in the historic Town Square, while the inviting bathtub encourages leisurely moments with a glass of wine.

Insider Tips

Request a room with a balcony for the best views of Sonoma Plaza, especially if you enjoy people-watching and soaking in the local atmosphere. Keep in mind that weekends can be busy in the plaza, so consider a midweek stay for a quieter experience. The Zina Lounge on-site offers excellent wine tastings, so carve out time to indulge in that.
