Count Agoston Haraszthy launched California's premium wine industry from this site in 1857, and today's Bartholomew Estate Winery occupies his original property within a 375-acre park managed by a nonprofit trust. Proceeds from wine sales fund land conservation and public access to the trails, vineyards, and historic buildings.

The Setting
The mission-style building dates to 1922 and sits inside Bartholomew Park, where vines climb slopes above Sonoma Valley and hikers share trails with vineyard workers. Tastings happen in the Gallery, surrounded by rotating art exhibits, or in the covered botanical courtyard open to park breezes. The property includes miles of hiking trails that wind through estate vineyards and oak woodlands.
The Tasting Experience
Wine Tasting Flight ($45) seats you in the Gallery or the botanical courtyard and pours sustainably farmed estate wines. Wine Tasting + Grazing Board ($85) adds a board from Salumeria Ovello or Spread Kitchen, available Wednesday through Sunday with 48-hour notice. Savory & Sweet ($75) pairs three hand pies—each with savory and sweet fillings—with estate wines.
