HotelMetro Hotel & Cafe
Built in 1870, this Parisian-circus-themed hotel serves homemade crepes and organic coffee until 10 AM.

Hotel Petaluma's lobby woodwork dates to the building's opening year, when this four-story structure anchored downtown commerce. Upper-floor windows look straight down onto the weekend farmers' market and Washington Street foot traffic. It's a functional base in the center of town, not a getaway from it.
Rooms face either the main commercial strip or the quieter side street. Parking is available on-site, which matters in a downtown that fills up on market days. The lobby serves as a pass-through rather than a hang-out spot—most guests head out on foot to Central Market or one of the newer wine bars that have opened within a few blocks. There's no restaurant in-house, but the location makes that less of an issue.

The four-story building occupies a corner lot on Washington Street, with the original neon sign visible from a block away. Inside, wood-paneled walls and trim survive from the 1920s construction. The Goldman Ballroom on the upper floor retains its historic proportions, though it's been updated for weddings and group events. Street-level access puts guests within walking distance of Petaluma's downtown tasting rooms and the waterfront along the Petaluma River.
The Shuckery restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with a focus on fresh, local ingredients. Guests can enjoy a variety of dishes that highlight the flavors of the region.
Request a room on a higher floor for the best views of the surrounding area. Check the restaurant schedule at The Shuckery for special events or themed nights to enhance your dining experience. Be mindful of weekends, as the hotel can fill up quickly due to its prime location for wine tasting and events.
