Doctors Joseph and Genevieve Roche planted Tipperary Vineyards in 1982.
Roche Winery & Vineyards, founded in 1987 by Doctors Joseph and Genevieve Roche, is a family-owned winery located in the picturesque Sonoma Valley. Known for its award-winning Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the winery offers a welcoming and genuine experience, with a focus on direct-to-consumer sales and a commitment to quality over mass distribution. Visitors can enjoy tastings in both the downtown Sonoma tasting room and the flagship winery, which features beautiful outdoor spaces and a dog-friendly atmosphere.
The Reserve Tasting pours four wines including reserve Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs alongside barrel samples from current vintages. Both tasting rooms offer barrel tastings daily, a rarity for visitors who want to taste wine before bottling.

The flagship winery sits inside Tipperary Vineyards on Bonness Road, 20 acres planted in southern Sonoma Valley. A shaded outdoor patio has fireplaces for cooler afternoons. The downtown Sonoma tasting room at 122 West Spain Street has a porch that overlooks the square and a garden patio. Both locations are dog-friendly.

The Select Tasting offers four non-reserve wines plus barrel tastings for $35. Reserve Tasting steps up to $45 and includes sparkling, reserve Chardonnays, Pinot Noirs, and Merlot, also with barrel samples. From June through September on weekends, the Vineyard & Winery Tour walks 4–8 guests through Tipperary Vineyards and production areas for $65.
