The Setting
The 100-year-old olive grove stands between the parking area and the tasting room, a grove that predates the winery's founding in 1978 and survived renovations. Rutherford Ranch sits along Silverado Trail South, surrounded by estate vineyards in the Rutherford appellation. The tasting room opens to views of the vineyard rows where the family farms under sustainable certification, and the Proprietor's Lounge hosts seated tastings in a quieter space away from the main bar.
The Tasting Experience
The Reserve Tasting ($55) pours limited-production wines exclusive to the winery, guided by a wine educator who walks through winemaking decisions at Rutherford Ranch. The Torcia Experience ($95) moves to the Proprietor's Lounge for a seated, private tasting comparing single-appellation Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon from different Napa regions. The Guided Tour and Reserve Tasting ($75) starts with a walking tour of the estate vineyards and winery history before pouring the reserve lineup.
