At 900 feet, Halleck is one of Sonoma County's highest vineyards.
Halleck Vineyard is a family-owned estate vineyard located at 900 feet elevation, making it one of the highest vineyards in Sonoma County. Established in 1993, it has gained recognition for its exceptional Pinot Noir, including being awarded #1 Pinot in the United States for its first wine in 2002. The vineyard's unique location allows for a cool climate that enhances the flavors of the grapes, and it is committed to community involvement and charitable contributions.
Halleck's first commercial Pinot Noir earned #1 Pinot in the United States in 2002. Today, visitors taste that same elevation-driven wine from a tasting room attached to the family home, where views stretch across Sonoma Valley to Mount Saint Helena and the hosts pour as if you're old friends.

The tasting room sits behind the owner's house, accessible only by GPS and a gate call—no signs mark the turn. Once inside, floor-to-ceiling windows frame Mount Saint Helena and the valley floor below. Guest reviews mention the outdoor space on warm days and the feeling of being tucked into private countryside, far from tasting room traffic.

The Estate Vineyard Tasting ($70) runs twice daily Thursday through Sunday at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., capped at twenty guests but often far smaller. Hosts pour double-gold Pinot Noir and Rosé alongside local cheeses, house-made curry popcorn, and chocolates. The owner drops in to talk through vintages, and staff share the family story—established in 1993, bottling wine from vines grown at elevation where cool air sharpens acidity.
Enjoy a seated wine tasting experience featuring best-in-class, double gold Sonoma County red and white wines, award-winning Rosé, and local delicacies. This intimate tasting allows you to explore the nuances of our vineyard wines, including Pinot Noirs and Sauvignon Blancs, paired with food to enhance your experience.
