The Setting
ZD's contemporary tasting room sits at 8383 Silverado Trail on the Rutherford bench, where panoramic views stretch across Napa Valley from an overlook that faces west toward the Mayacamas. The renovated space opened to visitors by appointment, with seating arranged to face the vineyard rows below. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the benchland's gentle slope, and the cellar doors open directly onto the production floor where barrels age beneath the same roof.
The Tasting Experience
At the Vineyard View Tasting ($50), guests sit at tables facing the valley overlook and taste through current release wines including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The Cabernet Lovers Tasting ($75) adds Reserve bottlings and a barrel sample drawn from the cellar. The ZD Experience Tour & Tasting ($125) includes a privately guided walk through 58 years of production history downstairs, followed by a seated tasting upstairs.

Go behind the scenes with an immersive private tour of our cellar, seeing firsthand where our world-class wines are produced using sustainable practices. Your host will provide you with a barrel sampling of Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, a component of Abacus that will eventually be blended into the solera. Following the tour, you will taste a selection of Reserve and Library wines in our contemporary Vineyard View Room & Deck. This ultimate tasting will include two different Bottlings of Abacus and is accompanied by light artisanal food pairings. Approximately 120 minutes.
