A certified organic estate in Rutherford where kids run through the vineyard rows during the Family Friendly Garden Tasting.
Frog's Leap Winery, located in the heart of Napa Valley's Rutherford AVA, is renowned for its commitment to sustainable farming and traditional winemaking practices. With a focus on producing estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon, the winery has spent over two decades cultivating its vineyards to create wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region. Visitors can expect a warm, welcoming atmosphere where the joy of wine is celebrated and shared.
The Rooted in Rutherford tasting pairs current releases with vegetables pulled from the winery's own garden, served at tables surrounded by the crops that grow alongside the vines. Frog's Leap farms without irrigation, relying on dry-farmed vines to produce wines that reflect what the Rutherford soils can do on their own.

Frog's Leap built its tasting house around a working vegetable garden where tomatoes, squash, and herbs grow in beds between the parking lot and the tasting patio. Chickens wander the property. The red barn that houses the winery sits behind rows of Cabernet vines that stretch toward the Mayacamas range, and visitors seated for tastings look out over both the garden beds and the vineyard blocks that supply the estate Cabernet Sauvignon.

The Garden Tasting at $50 sets up guests at outdoor tables where they can pour through current releases while sitting among the actual crops. For $100, Rooted in Rutherford adds seasonal bites—often vegetables from the garden itself—to the wine lineup. The Vineyard House Tour & Tasting at $75 walks visitors through the property to explain the dry-farming approach before pouring the wines that result from it.
