Dario Sattui re-opened his great-grandfather Vittorio's 1885 winery in 1976 with picnic grounds.
V. Sattui Winery, founded in 1885 by Vittorio Sattui and re-established in 1976 by his great-grandson Dario, embodies the spirit of the American Dream with its rich history and commitment to quality. Nestled in Napa Valley, the winery features stunning rustic Italianate architecture, lush gardens, and a focus on sustainable winemaking practices, offering a unique experience where guests can enjoy hand-crafted wines and gourmet food in a welcoming atmosphere. Known for its hospitality, V. Sattui was one of the first wineries to create picnic areas for visitors, fostering a sense of community and connection over shared experiences.
The Reserve Tower Tasting pairs five ultra-premium wines with a circular marble bar inside the stone winery tower, limited to 12 guests at a time. V. Sattui sells only through its own doors, so bottles poured here aren't available anywhere else in Napa Valley or beyond.

The stone winery tower anchors a property studded with picnic tables under oak trees and a remodeled Mercato Tasting Room that draws walk-ins for generous 5.5-ounce pours. Vittorio's Vineyard spreads out behind the shaded Grove, where the Premier Outdoor Tasting seats visitors with views of the vines. The Stone Winery Terrace opens Friday through Sunday for panoramic looks across V. Sattui's estate plantings in St. Helena.

The Mercato Tasting at $45 lets visitors choose five wines from Premier and Estate selections, with the option to swap in a single-vineyard Cabernet flight for $20 more. Chef Jeffrey Lloyd designs the Wine & Food Pairings experience at $99, a three-course menu that rotates seasonally and caps at 12 guests. Tour & Tasting covers the Napa Valley Ag Preserve, sustainable practices, and Prohibition-era history before pouring award-winning wines for 90 minutes at $75.
