Sonoma County's 13th bonded winery, founded in 1959 by dancer-turned-vintner Rod Strong.
Rodney Strong Vineyards, established in 1959, is a pioneer in Sonoma County's winemaking history, being the 13th winery bonded in the region. Under the stewardship of the Klein family since 1989, the winery is dedicated to crafting premium wines while emphasizing sustainable practices and environmental stewardship. Visitors can enjoy a range of award-winning wines in a beautiful setting that reflects the winery's commitment to quality and community.
The Library Flight pours five vintages from 2011 to 2015, including Brothers and Rockaway Cabernets that show how Alexander's Crown and other estate sites evolve over a decade. It's $75 and proves what six decades of farming specific Sonoma blocks can do when you keep the wine long enough to see it.

The Healdsburg tasting room opened recently, replacing older hospitality spaces with indoor and outdoor seating that looks out toward vineyards the Klein family has stewarded since 1989. Tours move through production areas where three brands—Rodney Strong, Davis Bynum, and ROWEN—are made under one roof. Appointments run Thursday through Monday, last seating at 3:30 p.m.

Five flights range from $25 to $75, each built around a brand or theme. The Introductory Flight starts with 2023 Russian River Valley Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, then shifts to Knights Valley Cabernet. The Davis Bynum Flight focuses on single-vineyard Pinot Noir from sites like Lindley's Knoll and Bacigalupi. Staff pour in a room that balances the scale of a 65-year-old operation with the focus required to talk through Dutton Origin versus Gravel Lens Chardonnay.
