Gary Andrus founded Pine Ridge in 1978 to farm 47 acres in the Stags Leap District.
Pine Ridge Vineyards, founded in 1978 by Gary Andrus, is nestled in the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley, where it has become renowned for its exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery is committed to crafting terroir-focused wines that reflect the unique characteristics of its five estate vineyards, showcasing the diverse sub-appellations of the region. With a strong emphasis on sustainability and a deep respect for the land, Pine Ridge continues to produce wines that embody both power and elegance.
Cellar 47, named for those original 47 Stags Leap acres, sits deep in the winery's European-inspired caves—130 feet underground, surrounded by barrels aging Cabernet from five estate vineyards. Food & Wine Magazine named Pine Ridge one of the 75 Best Wineries to Visit in California.

The winery overlooks terraced vineyard blocks where the Stags Leap palisades rise to the east, their jagged rock face visible from the tasting room windows. Caves tunnel 130 feet below the estate, where the Cabernet Cave offers barrel-lined alcoves for seated flights. A vineyard archway frames views across the 160 estate acres farmed across Napa's sub-appellations.
Hosts pour seated flights in a casual tasting room during the Estate Tasting ($60), where they trace fruit from specific estate blocks to what's in the bottle. The Cabernet Cave Tasting ($85) moves downstairs into semi-private nooks among aging barrels, while the Cellar 47 Cave Tour & Tasting ($125) begins with a guided walk through the caves before settling into the intimate underground lounge named for the original Stags Leap parcel.
