Burgess Cellars operates three regeneratively farmed vineyards on Howell Mountain from a 19th-century site.
Burgess Cellars is a family-owned winery in Napa Valley with a rich history dating back to the 19th century. Known for its commitment to regenerative farming and minimal intervention winemaking, Burgess produces elegant wines that reflect the unique terroir of its historic vineyards. Visitors can enjoy private tastings, guided tours, and exclusive access to the Founder’s Room, showcasing the winery's legacy and dedication to quality.
The Founder's Experience includes a walk through the pollinator grove and St. Andrews Vineyard before a tasting in the Founder's Room, a hidden speakeasy reserved for members. The vineyard legacy here traces back to the 1800s, though the Burgess family took over in 1972.

The Founder's Room sits tucked away as a speakeasy-style library stocked with historic Burgess vintages. Outside, the pollinator grove and St. Andrews Vineyard frame the property, part of what the winery calls promiscuous farming—regenerative methods that let the vines integrate with the surrounding ecosystem. The estate itself occupies land first planted to vines in the 19th century, long before the Burgess name arrived.

The Estate Experience pours four current releases with cheese plates in a setting inspired by Provençal estates. At $150, the Founder's Experience adds the vineyard and grove tour before ending in the speakeasy. The Chef in Residence program brings Michelin-level pairings to the table for $250, while the Vineyard Immersion takes guests by Lexus SUV to Sorenson and Quartz Creek for $350.

The Estate Experience is a great way to introduce guests to Burgess wines. Inspired by the casual elegance of a Provençal chateau, you’ll be welcomed to taste four current Burgess releases. A cheese and charcuterie plate is available for an additional $25 per person. Choose between enjoying your tasting outside in our Grove alongside the pollinator garden, or inside our Manor House. Locations are not guaranteed and are based on availability, weather permitting.
The Founder’s Experience is our grand tasting designed for wine enthusiasts and collectors. You’ll take a guided tour of our pollinator grove and the adjacent St. Andrews Vineyard, then we’ll head to The Founder’s Room, our speakeasy and wine library lined with old vintages. Along with your cheese and charcuterie accompaniment, you’ll taste four of our current releases, including our Artist Series Cabernet Sauvignon, plus a taste of Cabernet Sauvignon from our collection of older vintages.
Our Chef in Residence program offers the opportunity to enjoy Michelin-level quality pairings with your Burgess tasting. Fresh, seasonal, and thoughtfully conceived to pair with the range of Burgess wines, it’s been drawing raves since we first introduced the program in Spring of 2025.
Guests will embark on a journey through Napa Valley, exploring two iconic Burgess vineyards that embody promiscuous and innovative farming methods—all from the luxurious comfort of a Lexus SUV. A Burgess Estate Ambassador will personally pick you up from your hotel. Starting at our historic St. Andrews Vineyard, guests will enjoy a privately guided tour of our meticulously cultivated vineyards before heading to our Clos Abeille Vineyard for a private tasting of our limited-production, single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons. Following this, we will return to our Estate for a vintage retrospective tasting in our Speakeasy. Guests will then be chauffeured to their next winery within Napa Valley or back to their hotel.
