Burgess Cellars offers an extraordinary opportunity to taste its prestigious Artist Series Cabernet Sauvignon in the enchanting atmosphere of The Founder’s Room, a hidden speakeasy lined with bottles of history. Every sip of their exquisite wines reveals the meticulous care and dedication behind each vintage, elevating the experience into something truly memorable. The blend of incredible flavors and the intimate setting creates an anticipation that is palpable, making it a must-visit for any wine enthusiast.

The dramatic wooden doors of Burgess Cellars welcome visitors into a unique and historic winery that exudes charm and character. The rustic architecture, reminiscent of a Provençal chateau, is complemented by the surrounding hills of Howell Mountain, where the vineyards stretch out like a patchwork quilt of meticulously cultivated land. This striking visual draws in photography enthusiasts, while the soft rustle of leaves and the distant hum of pollinators create a serene backdrop, inviting guests to relax and savor the moment.

Choosing the Founder’s Experience means embarking on an adventure through Burgess' lush pollinator grove and St. Andrews Vineyard, where the scents of earth and greenery mingle in the air. Upon entering The Founder’s Room, the atmosphere becomes intimate and exclusive, as guests sample four current releases, each paired thoughtfully with artisan cheese and charcuterie. The tasting is not just about wine; it’s a journey through the winery's legacy, with stories of older vintages adding depth to each sip, making every moment feel like a personal connection to the land and its history.
The Estate Experience is a great way to introduce guests to Burgess wines. Inspired by the casual elegance of a Provençal chateau, you’ll be welcomed to taste four current Burgess releases. A cheese and charcuterie plate is available for an additional $25 per person. Choose between enjoying your tasting outside in our Grove alongside the pollinator garden, or inside our Manor House. Locations are not guaranteed and are based on availability, weather permitting.
The Founder’s Experience is our grand tasting designed for wine enthusiasts and collectors. You’ll take a guided tour of our pollinator grove and the adjacent St. Andrews Vineyard, then we’ll head to The Founder’s Room, our speakeasy and wine library lined with old vintages. Along with your cheese and charcuterie accompaniment, you’ll taste four of our current releases, including our Artist Series Cabernet Sauvignon, plus a taste of Cabernet Sauvignon from our collection of older vintages.
Our Chef in Residence program offers the opportunity to enjoy Michelin-level quality pairings with your Burgess tasting. Fresh, seasonal, and thoughtfully conceived to pair with the range of Burgess wines, it’s been drawing raves since we first introduced the program in Spring of 2025.
Guests will embark on a journey through Napa Valley, exploring two iconic Burgess vineyards that embody promiscuous and innovative farming methods—all from the luxurious comfort of a Lexus SUV. A Burgess Estate Ambassador will personally pick you up from your hotel. Starting at our historic St. Andrews Vineyard, guests will enjoy a privately guided tour of our meticulously cultivated vineyards before heading to our Clos Abeille Vineyard for a private tasting of our limited-production, single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons. Following this, we will return to our Estate for a vintage retrospective tasting in our Speakeasy. Guests will then be chauffeured to their next winery within Napa Valley or back to their hotel.
