The Setting
The Caves at Soda Canyon sit entirely underground, with the tasting space carved into the hillside above Stags Leap District. Floor-to-ceiling openings frame views straight down to the valley below, where the vines stretch across the flatlands. Cool air moves through the space year-round, and barrel rows line the walls behind the tasting counter. It's one of the few Napa properties where production and hospitality share the same subterranean footprint.
The Tasting Experience
Both experiences are led by the Buoncristiani brothers themselves, not hired staff. The Signature Tour & Tasting ($85) walks guests through the underground production facility before pouring a range of their wines. The Cabernet Portfolio Tasting ($135) focuses entirely on their flagship varietal, with pours drawn from multiple vineyard sources. Between tastes, the brothers explain their enology decisions and vineyard sourcing—they handle all production, from harvest to bottling, without outside winemakers.
