The Setting
Shadybrook Estate sits in Coombsville, founded by Alice and David Alkosser, with a 16,000-square-foot cave cut into the hillside. Glass-fronted cabanas sit at the top of that hillside, and the grand terrace spreads out below them. Horses graze near the vineyard rows at Rapp Ranch Vineyards, where wranglers lead guests on riding trails.
The Tasting Experience
Wine Tasting on the Grand Terrace runs $95 and includes food pairings served outdoors. The Overlook Experience at $150 moves guests up into private cabanas perched above the Cave entrance. The Cave Series Experience, also at $250, takes place in a private dining room inside the Cave, with dishes prepared in partnership with Chef Ken Frank of Michelin-rated La Toque.
