The Setting
Ram's Gate Winery opened in 2011 at the entrance to Sonoma, where the property borders three American Viticultural Areas at once. An estate vineyard fans out from the main building, visible from the tasting tables where guests sit facing the vines. The architecture and grounds favor clean lines and open sightlines rather than ornamentation, letting the Carneros landscape hold the focus.
The Tasting Experience
Guests sit at tables for both experiences: the Seated Wine Tasting ($60) pours five wines from Cellar N, while The Equinox Experience ($185) moves through five courses and five wines selected by Joe Nielsen and prepared by Kim Cosway. Staff guide each tasting, explaining vineyard sources and how the AVA convergence shapes what's in the glass. Gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, and vegetarian modifications are standard, not special requests.
