Merry Edwards founded this label after collectors backed her to bottle her own Pinot Noir.
Merry Edwards Winery is renowned for its exceptional single-vineyard Pinot Noirs, crafted with a deep respect for the land and a commitment to sustainability. Founded by trailblazer Merry Edwards, the winery has a rich history dating back to 1970 and is now part of the prestigious Maison Louis Roederer family, ensuring that its legacy of quality and innovation continues. Visitors can expect a warm welcome and a chance to learn about the winery's dedication to fine winemaking and environmental stewardship.
The Appellation Tasting Experience pours wines from both Russian River and Anderson Valley—Merry Edwards bottles Pinot from two separate viticultural areas, a range few producers attempt. The Spring Allocation Tasting Experience includes Meredith Estate, the newest single-vineyard bottling, available before general release.
The winery sits in Sebastopol, where Certified California Sustainable vineyards surround the tasting space. The estate grows its own fruit for every single-vineyard Pinot Noir bottled under the label. Maison Louis Roederer acquired the property and continues to farm each vineyard plot separately to preserve the site-specific expression Merry Edwards built the brand on.

The Appellation Tasting Experience ($45) moves between Russian River, Sonoma Coast, and Anderson Valley bottlings to show how each terroir shapes Pinot Noir. The Reserve Tasting Experience ($90) focuses on the top-tier selections, ending with a Sauvignon Blanc that has drawn attention from critics. Guides discuss Merry Edwards' work at Mt. Eden Vineyards and Matanzas Creek Winery before she launched her own label, and how winemaker Heidi von der Mehden carries that legacy forward now.
