The Setting
The winery sits on a sloped property in Yountville where the original 1973 production facilities were built into the hillside. Large windows in the main tasting building look out over estate vineyards that supply fruit for the Reserve Brut and Los Carneros Vintage Brut. The architecture keeps the focus on the vineyard rows rather than ornamental gardens, with outdoor seating positioned along the vine lines.
The Tasting Experience
The Estate Tasting ($40) pours current sparkling releases with an explanation of how the winery adapts French techniques to Napa fruit. For visitors who want to see production, the Cave Tour & Tasting ($50) walks through the facility before pouring wines in the temperature-controlled cave space. The Sparkling Wine & Chocolate Pairing ($60) matches four pours with chocolates selected by staff, while the Picnic Experience ($75) includes a basket and bottle for the lawn.
