Carneros' oldest continuously operating winery, founded in the 1880s, now owned by Gerret and Tatiana Copeland.
Bouchaine Vineyards, the oldest continuously operating winery in Carneros, has a rich history dating back to the late 1880s. Under the stewardship of Gerret and Tatiana Copeland, the winery has transformed from a dilapidated facility into a thriving estate, focusing on crafting vibrant wines that reflect the elegance of Burgundy and the exuberance of California. Visitors can enjoy stunning views from the terrace while exploring a diverse selection of over 20 wines, including Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Bouchaine makes over 20 wines from Carneros fruit, including Pinot Meunier and Riesling alongside the region's signature Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Proprietors Gerret and Tatiana Copeland rebuilt what had been a dilapidated facility into a working estate where visitors can walk into vineyards or watch Master Falconer Rebecca Rosen fly hawks and owls overhead.

Bouchaine sits at 1075 Buchli Station Road, where a terrace wraps around the tasting room with 270-degree views across Carneros vineyards. The property opens south toward San Pablo Bay, catching the cool breezes that define this appellation. A garden adjacent to the tasting room hosts casual tastings and falconry demonstrations, with enough space for families and groups to spread out under open sky.

Terrace Tasting ($75) pours five estate-grown wines on the wraparound deck, while Garden Wine Tasting ($45) offers four limited-production wines in a more casual setting that welcomes all ages. Vine to Vessel ($120) begins with a walk into Bouchaine's vineyards before moving inside to taste. Wine & Cheese ($125) pairs four artisanal cheeses with four Bouchaine wines in a private class format.
