The Setting
The original 1930s service station still anchors the property on Foothill Boulevard, its white clapboard facade and vintage signage intact. Inside what was once the repair bay, you'll find the Lubrication station, where concrete floors and industrial fixtures meet wine barrels. For groups of seven or eight, tastings move to the Backroom, a separate space with limited seating that requires advance booking. A second outpost opened in Paso Robles in 2024.
The Tasting Experience
Most visitors book the Lubrication Tasting, which pours four one-off wines—rosé, white, red, or sparkling depending on what's been released that season—for $40. Families with kids under 21 can reserve the Family Tasting at the same price point. Larger parties of seven to eight require the $75 Large Group Tasting in the Backroom, though availability is tight due to limited seating. Expect staff who lean into the punk rock ethos: no reverence, just honesty about what's in the glass.
